Does anyone else think that it would be _very_ useful if the inbuilt
matlab functions had some kind of topic help option, something like
the apropos (or man -k) option in UNIX. On a general basis I run
matlab without having a manual in front of me (the university only has
3 copies so they are very restricted) so when I have no idea what the
command is but have a good idea what I want it to (and that the
command exists) its very annoying as I have to wander around the dept
to find the manual.

Of course knowing my luck this is probably a version 4.0 option.

How right you are. Here's what I get by using the new "lookfor" command
with the string "fourier":

>> lookfor fourier

FFT	Discrete Fourier transform.
FFT2	Two-dimensional Fast Fourier Transform.
IFFT	Inverse discrete Fourier transform.
IFFT2	Two-dimensional inverse discrete Fourier transform.
FOURIER Graphics demo of Fourier series expansion.
DFTMTX	Discrete Fourier transform matrix.
