Network Computer Inc. is seeking contract testers and regular employees to test several internet applications. This includes a browser and other (sorry I can't name them here) user applications. These are being developed for use with a new type of machine, based on the ARM 7500 risc processor. For more details, see the blurb below and see www.nc.com. I am particularly interested in finding the following types of people: * Testing Toolsmith. There are lots of opportunities for using tools to become more efficient. I want to work with someone who has successfully developed some of these solutions in previous projects, and who has developed enough judgment that she or he can guide us in what we need to build / buy first, why, and how to use it. UNIX-based programming / testing experience is required. * Mid-level or Senior Black Box Tester Supervisory or project management experience is desirable. Experience testing applications that consumers will buy and use is an essential, non-negotiable requirement. The ideal candidate has at least five years of testing experience, at least two projects worth of test planning experience, a degree in computing, human factors, or related area, experience with java and html, and skill in using a project management tool such as TimeLine or Microsoft Project. These requirements are flexible -- we are looking for leadership and talent in testing net-based consumer applications. * Junior Testers Experience writing html-based documents is very desirable. Testing experience is very desirable but we will seriously consider html-knowledgeable applicants who have other types of experience in computer or software companies, such as technical support, technical writing, or administrative support. Recent graduates with degrees in computing or human factors, who can demonstrate solid knowledge of the web and some knowledge of html will also be considered. Some of the comp.software.testing readers of this note will have met me or read some of my postings. If it's of interest to you, I'm a technical and process consultant here. This recruiting is a minor part of my work. I know the VP Product Development here very well, trust him, and respect him highly. And this company is playing a lead role in pushing a new wave of hardware and software development. This is an interesting opportunity, well worth checking out. ABOUT NETWORK COMPUTER, INC.
