Beta testing stats

Greetings!

I am doing some research on software development. More precisely,
beta-testings. What I have had a hard time coming up with are some
statistical data. I am looking for:

	* An average time (length and frame) that beta-testing takes
as compared to the software project.

	* An average number of testers that are used within the industry
	  per product.

	* How much of a software development project's budget is actually
	  allocated to beta-testings.

	* What kind of man-power (company personnel) are usually needed to
effectively run a beta testing phase of the project.

If anyone has any raw data, or can share numbers that they have
personally seen used within a company I would love to hear them. I will
be glad to post my findings once I have accumulated enough information.

Thank you.

If I may make a prediction, you will find many requests to share the data,
but not a lot of sources. The data I suspect are not collected in the detail
that you want. Secondly, I suspect that you might want to spend some time
improving your questions. For example, are these questions intended to
cover all possible projects, from one person projects to multi-person, multi
year projects?

First, thanks for your suggestions. I left the questions (in terms of size)
generalized because I am looking for quite a range of information, from small
one man projects, all the way to Fortune 500 software companies (if possible).
I agree that this information will be hard to come by, but hopefully I will
get a reasonable amount of data.
