I discovered something unusual in the new compress this week. A user called and complained that his utility was no longer displaying his file. It turned out that the file in question was a symbolic link to another file. While SunOS's old zcat was decompressing it just fine, the newly compiled version of compress/zcat was indicating that the file in question was not a regular file. Does anyone know where a version of the new compress which works with symbolically linked files could be located? -- Larry W.
