As some of you have reported, the fortune data base files were truncated in some cases. The most common reason is the control-G (bell) characters being deleted. In the case of scene.aa, part of one fortune got chopped out and another has a linefeed inserted. Here's a diff for scene.aa. The last line has 22 ^G's inserted before the leading A and 1 ^G after the last !. ---------------------- 42c42,44 < (5) Self-piercing earringsX (7) False eyelashes --- > (5) Self-piercing earrings > (6) Fungus trellis > (7) False eyelashes 655,656c657 < A succes < ful [software] tool is one that was used to do something --- > A successful [software] tool is one that was used to do something 719c720 < AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccckkkkkk!!!!!!!!! --- > AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccckkkkkk!!!!!!!!! -Bill Randle Moderator, comp.sources.games Tektronix, Inc. games-request@tekred.TEK.COM
