I'm trying to let Xdvi work with the MakeTeXPK script from dvips. It works OK for fonts with sizes less or equal to 746 but not with larger font sizes: - MakeTeXPK lcmssb8 895 300 2+295/300 virmf &plain \mode:=imagen; mag:=2+295/300; scrollmode; input lcmssb8 \</dev/null This is METAFONT, C Version 2.7 (/usr/local/lib/mf/inputs/lcmssb8.mf (/usr/local/lib/mf/inputs/cmbase.mf) [...] [124]) ) ) Font metrics written on lcmssb8.tfm. Output written on lcmssb8.895gf (128 characters, 26480 bytes). Transcript written on lcmssb8.log. Can't find font lcmssb8 at 896 dpi; using 746 dpi instead. Xdvi looks for 896dpi, but the arguments it gives to MakeTeXPK are for 895dpi. Is this a possible rounding error in Xdvi? Has anyone else noticed this behaviour? Arjan
