ECU on Sun4?

Has anyone gotten ECU to work successfully on a Sun 4 running 4.1.1?
I keep hanging up when trying to escape from the program (using ESC).
Also, I can't seem to be able to dial even though I specified the
right tty.

I'm sure this must be pilot error so if you got this working on a Sun4
and can share any info with me I'd sure appreciate it.
