Compiling XVI on AT&T 386 SVR3.2.3

I've been trying to compile the XVI source that was posted to
comp.sources.misc a few months ago. All the files compile just
fine on my AT&T System V/386 Release 3.2.3 machine using their
4.1.6 compiler, except for unix.c. I get errors like these:

"unix.c", line 409: unknown size
"unix.c", line 460: XTABS undefined
"unix.c", line 463: ECHOCTL undefined
"unix.c", line 463: ECHOPRT undefined
"unix.c", line 463: ECHOKE undefined
"unix.c", line 537: ws_row undefined
"unix.c", line 537: member of structure or union required
"unix.c", line 538: ws_col undefined
"unix.c", line 538: member of structure or union required

For what it's worth, line 409 has to deal with

struct winsize winsz

or something to that effect.

Has anybody successfully compiled XVI on this version of UNIX(r)?
If so, what am I missing or doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.
