HKEY.LIB v2.0 by Joel Miller
OVERVIEW:
Here is a library which will let you assign stuff to your keys as
defaults. If you are in USER MODE then any user key assignments
take precedence over your hard key assignments.
DETAILS:
There are six commands in the library. They are -
1. ASNHKEYS - Make a hard key assignment.
2: item - whatever you want to assign to the key
1: RC.P - the RowColumn.Plane of the key
ASNHKEYS [ENTER]
2. DELHKEYS - Delete 1 or more hard key assignments.
1: RC.P to delete a single assignment
DELHKEYS [ENTER]
1: { RC.P RC.P ...} to delete multiple assignments
DELHKEYS [ENTER]
1: 0 to delete all assignments
DELHKEYS [ENTER]
3. STOHKEYS - Store multiple assignments.
1: { item1 RC.P item2 RC.P ...}
STOHKEYS [ENTER]
4. RCLHKEYS - Recalls all current assignments in a list.
RCLHKEYS [ENTER] ----> { item1 RC.P item2 RC.P ...}
5. HARDKEY - Activate the hard keys.
6. DEFAULT - Restore default keys. [ON - C] will do this too.
All of the first four commands have the same syntax as the commands
used for the user keys assignments. You can read your user manual
for any syntax help if you need it.
The assignments are kept in a variable called 'HKEYS' in the
NULL directory.
Also note that just like the user keys, if you delete previously
assigned keys one by one, the variable used to store the assignments
will contain embedded EMPTY lists!! This is a waste of memory and can
be fixed by executing << RCLHKEYS 0 DELHKEYS STOHKEYS >> after deleting
the last assignment a key had.
PROBLEMS:
Since I am using the AppMode, whenever you go into any menu that is
supposed to display a screen when entered ( like the I/O SETUP ), nothing is displayed. The menu comes up OK but the you must hit REVIEW to get the info screen. The problem lies within the menu definition which calls a 'review' routine. The 'review' routine checks to see what modes the 48 is in and disables the automatic info screens. I am open to suggestions for a fix.
IMPROVEMENTS TO v1.0:
v1.0 did not allow you to disable the standard keys like you can through user mode. It also did not handle a user mode 'SKEY' definition.
This has been fixed in v2.0, you can now disable any standard key assignments in USER MODE by following the directions in the USER MANUAL. Any 'SKEY' definition will produce a 'hardkey' definition or the default definition depending on whether or not you have done a hardkey assignment to that key.
