The Z archive is now available via anonymous FTP on the Internet. Type the command "ftp ftp.comlab.ox.ac.uk" to a Unix shell and use "anonymous" as the login id and your e-mail address as the password when prompted. "cd Zforum" will get you into the Z archive directory. The file "00index" gives a list of the files. (Retrieve this using the command "get 00index".) Many files (with the suffix ".Z") are compressed to save space and allow quicker transfer. Remember to use the "binary" FTP command before accessing these. The Unix "uncompress" utility will restore such files. If this is a problem to users, then commonly used files could be uncompressed. Please report any problems and send any submissions for addition to the archive to <zforum-request@comlab.ox.ac.uk>. -- Jonathan Bowen, Oxford University
