See:

Jeannette Wing, Eugene Rollins and Amy Zaremski. Thoughts on a Larch/ML
and a new application for LP. CMU report CMU-CS-92-135, May 1992.

I can't help adding an advertisement for Extended ML, a specification and
formal development framework for SML which we have been working on for a number
of years. See for example:

Don Sannella. Formal program development in Extended ML for the working
programmer. Proc. 3rd BCS/FACS Workshop on Refinement, Hursley Park, 1990.
Springer Workshops in Computing, 99-130 (1991).

which is available by anonymous ftp from internet host ftp.dcs.ed.ac.uk
(address 129.215.160.5), directory pub/dts, file bcs.ps.Z (this is a
compressed Postscript file; don't forget to issue the command "binary"
before fetching it).
