gem font spec?

I'm writing a C/assembler program using bitmapped fonts for DOS and
OS2. I would like to use GEM fonts.

I need the details to the GEM font file format v2.0 or v3.0 (no
v3.0 compression). This is what I've been able to figure out so
far:
                           font file offset
                           ----------------
null-terminated font name: byte 0-15h
min char value: byte 24h
max char value: byte 26h
font width: byte 34h
font height: byte 52h
ascent: byte 2ah
descent: byte 2eh
offset between bit rows: byte 50h
bit row start: word 4ch

From the above info, number of characters = [26h] -[24h]+1

There is a COT (character Offset table) of integers specifying
the pixel offset of each character, but I'm not sure where it
is or how it works? I'm sure there's other info needed that I'm
missing.

The GENUS GX TEXT manual (Appendix D) has some info on the GEM
format but not any details. Would any one have the GEM font format
specification or know where I can get it?

Any help greatly appreciated.
