I recently wrote a program that spins through an INN history file and calcuates the mean delay between posting and arrival for your news spool. Because the mean delay in seconds times the number of articles can easily exceed 2^32, I had to emulate 64-bit integers using two longs. (Look in news.admin.technical for the code.) Also consider a machine that has a clock accurate to 1 ms, and keeps a variable with the uptime in microseconds. -- Shields.
