Note: The only reason I am posting a followup rather than an email message
is the above sig: The poster does not own the account and very likely will not
get any email sent to the account. He will probably receive replies only
through the newsgroup. An email response will likely be seen either by some
library personnel or by the next person to log on to the account.

1) Do your own homework. Your instructor did not give you the assignment to
see if *we* are capable writing the code. He gave it to see if *you* are
capable of writing the code. That's the only way you are going to learn
something.

2) Comp.std.c does not exist to help you with your homework. It is for the
discussion of technical issues related to the C Standard definition.

3) If, after making a reasonable attempt to write the program, you have a bug
that you just can't figure out, post a *small portion* that reproduces the
problem to comp.LANG.c.moderated. That group is for generic C-related
questions, as opposed to questions about the Standard itself. Those of us who
read that group usually make an attempt to help people with such problems.

Good luck on your assignment.
