Hi Dave
(Christopher please, as my mother in law is called Chris!:-)

All I can say is how I use my BJC600.
1. I mainly refill my own cartridges with ink from Datafile.
2. I never use it unless the cartridges are filled.
3. I always switch it off before switching it off at the wall.
4. I use it pretty regularly, that is most days.
5. I make sure that the head cleaning procedure is done after every switch
on and every refill.
6. I use the CC TurboDriver and until recently used Printers V 1.22 (or
thereabouts), I now use 1.53 which is very much better in colour values.

I gather that it is important not to let it get heated without ink in, that
is the cause of almost all problems.
