Yes, I got one to replace my dead Qume LaserDirect. The 610 has itself died
three times but was replaced/repaired each time on the guarantee. After the
last death I put one of those spike supressant plugs on its lead and it has
stayed alive for nearly three months. Assuming I am right, I just wonder
where the spikes came from? The RPC?

It is a tad slow compared to the Qume. Further it won't do the photocopies
so easily, of course, from a CC scanner.

The quality is good; colour is nice; though blacks are marginally grey.

Ink is not cheap, but you will be used to that on the 600. Daren't try the
cheapo refils due to the cost of the print head - over 100 ukp, I heard -
should they clog it up.

Never bothered with Turbodriver. The old Publisher dongle prevented
printing from the PC card, so I was delighted to be able to get rid of it
with the recent upgrade and was not tempted to put another piece of CC
circuitry in line, never mind the expense. It prints well from Windows on
the PC Card.

But I would be tempted by a HP offering next time. Not sure the Canon is
rugged enough in construction, not to mention the above failures.
