I've just moved to Demon and have a few questions about mail on the service
(Crossposted as some people don't read demon.ip.support.archimedes)
1. Does FreeSMTP automatically categorise mail addressed to different users
(user@domain.demon.co.uk) into different Newsbase directories? If the user
is unknown to Newsbase, does it create a user?
2. When using !POP and the pop3 server, how do I configure Newsbase to
filter the mails into the right user's mailbox, as the (very useful) recent
post by Daniel Pead told me to?
3. Is there any way of making FreeSMTP display its progress as it transfers?
If I've got a big mail on my server and am using SMTP, I'd have no idea what
was going on as it downloaded; for example whether the mail is one which
has been bounced back at me, or is a mailbomb.
Help gratefully received.
G
PS: Please don't send any mail to my old address (gcrockford@enterprise.net)
as I'm closing the account in a few days and the only way I can check my
mail on that mailbox in the meantime is to use Mailstart.
