Problem solved. Just in case anyone else is having similar problems here's
how I did it:

First copied the contents of the issue discs to a 'real' PC hard disc, into
directories DISK1 - DISK7 (note, the spelling, MUST be K, not C) using a
utility (WinImage) found on the front of a PC mag.

Used DOS BACKUP to backup the files to standard PC discs

Used DOS RESTORE to recover the directories and files onto the RPC DOS
partition.

Ran the install program from the Windows Prog. Manager RUN command line.

And now I have M$ Word 6 on my RPC - not much disc space left though, it is,
like most M$ apps, rather hungry.

Now all I need is the CC WordPerfect loader/saver and I can move documents
between Impression and Word (because Word 2, the 'target' word processor, is
rather poor at reading anything other than the simplest WordPerfect
documents the safest way of transfering is out of Impression in WordPerfect
format, into Word 6 and saved from there in Word 2 format - convoluted, but
if you work with PCs you get used to that).
