Disc drive not known message obyained if attempting to access discs 2, 3 and 5-7 in ROS, DOS & Windoze, so it would appear that the problem is ROS and not PC card software. The fact that cataloguing disc 4 (*dr.0 then *. from command line) the floppy drive powers up then I get a catalogue listing for my hard drive (drive 4) makes me think that there is something 'funny' in the disc name which is being misinterpreted by ROS as a drive number. Unless anyone has any brilliant ideas I think I'll dump Word and go for WordPerfect (after all its the nearest thing to a decent word processor on the PC and it will save documents in Word 2 format). -- Tony Spence .
