I attach a posting from last year that might help tho' I've not tried it
myself.

Many thanks go to Mark Gillman of Cumana Customer Services for getting
the drive to format/work with !PC. Here's how you do it for any unfortunate
souls out there:

Using PC Card Software to Directly Access SCSI Harddisc
=======================================================
1. Plug in Harddisc using a valid SCSI Id.

2. DO NOT configure the computer to recognise the drive. That is, don't
use *CONFIGURE SCSIFSDISCS (on cumana s/w anyway).

3. Using the PC card configure program create a Drive_D as direct
SCSI access using the SCSI Id.

4, Boot from your existing DOS partition (if you don't have a partion then
    boot from a floppy).

5. Use FDISK and FORMAT to prepare the disk for PC card use, that is:

              FDISK - New hardisc
FORMAT C: /S - Format drive as bootable
FDISK - Make the new Partition Active

If it's not Active it won't boot ;-(

('machochism' = masochism for *real* men? ;-)) )

You'll perhaps need to be careful using FDISK and FORMAT initially in
case the software gets wiped. P'raps the first stages will allow the disc
to be read OK (?) if nothing else?

Alternatively, you should have the Syquest formatting utils from the discs
supplied with the drive. These are said to be needed for formatting if the
original data on the disc is not to be destroyed. Once the disk has been
*recognised* (ie. !PC actually boots up) I reckon these utils could be
used from DOS (E&OE!!)

Glad to pass on someone else's wisdom ;-) HTH and come back to us/me
with any success if possible.

Cheers - Malcolm
