Remember you get the Acorn driver when you buy it from Argonet.
If you buy it with out the driver and use it on the PC side, the drive is
UKP130 inc VAT.

SCSI at UKP 130 inc VAT as well.

The drive is now as fast as a hard disc, but it is fast. I have a RiscPC 600
and everything runs off it perecftly well.
Even Windoze 95, see below.

My college is considering getting one, espiecally as they have now seen mine
working, on their PC's.

Zip Drive ;)

I am very happy with it. There are a couple of problems in the software, but as
I don't find them very much of a problem, I haven't attempt to get an upgrade
until today, that after haveing the drive for over a month.
WINDOWS 95 TEST
To test the software I decided to copy my 100 meg partition which had windows 95
in it on to an Acorn formatted zip disc. I set up !PC to look only at the zip
drive partition. It ran and not only that considering the time 95 normally take
to boot up this was good.
I probably was about 1.5 time the normal time, if anyone wants me to time it I
will.
I have the original Acorn PC Card, and use the zip drive in 95 as a PC drive,
this I use to take files to college.
If you are feeling low and not sure about Iomega go to there homepage:
http://www.iomega.com
At Acorn World I spoke to David Holden about the Zip drive, he told me how he
could get hold of them much cheaper than Argo, but with out the drivers, and
that the Syquests were much better, the Zip drives are out of date. But look at
it this way, he sells Syquests and he can't sell the Zip drives becase he hasn't
got the rights to the software!
If you think the Zip drives are out of date, then why are they selling so well.
Look though a PC Magazine how many companies make a point of putting a big add
for Zip drives? and how many for syqests?
Just some of my thoughts
Chris
