Hard disc shape?

Hi,

I've recently added an additional 1Gb scsi hard disc to my RiscPC, but as I
already have four scsi "drives" on my iconbar, I have a problem: I can't access
all of it!

Problem: RISC OS 3.5 will only allow 512Mb per "drive" partition
Problem: I cannot use the RISC OS 3.6 FileCore on my OAK SCSI card
 	 (unless you know different)

Poss. Solution: Get the new FileCore working.
Poss. Solution: Partition the drive as 2 x 512Mb drives, and only use one of
		them :-(

Poss. Solution: As above, but unconfigure my SyQuest drive so I can access the
		full Gig :-(

Lateral Solution: Forget about the drive under RISC OS, and program it as
a dedicated SCSI drive for the PC card.

NEW PROBLEM: !PCconfig wants to know the number of heads and the number of
sectors on my drive. How do I discover this? Does anyone
happen to know the shape of my drive? My SCSIform program reports
it as: an "IBM DPES-31080" drive with 0x205200 blocks of 512
    	     bytes (1034.25 Mbytes).

I'd be very grateful if anyone [particularly on the non-acorn groups] can
answer this.

Followups set to comp.sys.acorn.extra-cpu.

Thanks,

.. Shoot your program and put it out of its memory!

In the part of Disc Setup fill in the SCSI ID (0), Heads 0 and Sectors also
0. With a utility called Norton utilities or Checkit pro it's possible to
check what kind of HD you have. Afterwards change the fields Heads and
Sectors, although it's not necessary to fill in the actual values. I am using
my HD always with Heads 0 and Sectors 0 without any problems. If you really
want to know the heads and sectors, check your HD. Open it and count the
heads and sectors or read the information on the label on the HD (if
available). If you have access to a BBS you could also try to find your info
there or call IBM.
