Go ahead and install the SA. Upgrades are available for most of the current
software and you can check compatibility on Martin Friar's web page.
I had 2 problems:
(1) Fireworkz sometimes worked but if you turned the cache off it always did
(2) I could not print using CC TurboD. For a while I had to resort to the
basic Acorn Printer Drivers.
Voyager did not work at the time the first upgrades were sent out but by the
time I received mine the UnAcomPatch was available.
I purchased SA upgrades for !Fwkz and CC TD as soon as I could.
The only other minor problem was that I needed the SA version of ArcFS and I
had not downloaded and de-compressed it before doing the upgrade. I had to
use another machine to do that. The SA version is on the CDROM but at that
time I had no CD drive.
I would encourage you to go for it! That is, once you have assessed the
impact it will have with the use of the software you run.
In desperation you can always replace the original 610/710 card although I
am not keen on unnecessary handling of the SA card as it is static sensitive
and can be damaged if you are careless. I came across one owner who would
not let anyone point with their finger to anything in his opened RPC closer
than about 4 feet!
