PS/2 mice rely on a protocol which is similar to the PC keyboard protocol, and uses TTL levels. Uses a mini-din connector. Serial mice use a different protocol (usually Microsoft or PC-Mouse), and use RS-232 levels. Uses a 9 pin D connector. Combi/Combo (Combu?) mice usually have PS/2 connectors, and use some of the unused PS/2 pins in order to implement the serial mouse functionality, when used with a little 9 pin -> PS/2 adaptor. > Is anyone else in the Acorn community interested in a solution to this problem > or got any suggestions? I'm doing some interfacing work at the moment, and I suppose this is related! If there is a genuine interest/need for this, then howabout a PS/2 to Arc convertor box, and similarly a serial to Arc convertor. Plug the PC mouse in one side, and plug the other side into the Arc mouse socket. Retail for around UKP25 inc? Let's say that if I get more than 10 people who are genuinely interested in this, then I'll start production - the PS/2 version is likely to be first, followed by the serial version. Any interest or comments about the above, mail me.
