I have!

Many people have done so by using the supplied '!InetConf' program, and
making it work with SLIPdriver/PPPdriver. By simply adding a dialler
(e.g. a slightly modded FreeDial) and resolver, you've got a basic
Internet connection. Add ArcWeb etc. and there's your freeware suite!

I've had ArcWeb, Fresco, FTPclient, NewsHound, POP, ANTterm, HippoTerm,
IRClient, Resolver and a couple of other bits working fine this way.

Not content with FreeDial (just my opinion!) I'm in the process of
writing my own dialler and 'shell' for my Internet applications.
Who knows... one day I might write my own mail/news fetcher to go
with it, and have a complete 'add-a-browser' suite! :-)
