Please could someone advise me. > I, too have an SA RPC 600 and my newsbase behaves perfectly (almost, see * below). I suspect since a shift-boot makes the problem go away the cause is probably something non-standard loaded up in your boot sequence. The recommended procedure is to remove one thing at a time and re-boot if, suddenly the problem stopps occurring the last thing you removed is the cause. I would only remove things from the boot setup which were not installed as standard by the SA upgrade installer, it could only be something you hve added yourself at a later date; probably in "!Boot.Choices.Boot.Tasks" or "!Boot.Choices.Boot.PreDesk". * I have recently been troubled by an error box appearing when either loading up Acornet or simply opening the Resources directory within Acornet. I have traced the problem to an app file in !Newsbase called "!Autoboot" which is run from !Newsbase's !Boot file. The error window has simply "Error" as its title and the message: "Application may have gone wrong. Click Continue to resume or quit to stop Application." I always click continue and all seems to be OK, but it is a bit annoying and I wonder why it has suddenly begun to occur. I don't know what the !AutoBoot file is but loading it into Edit doesn't tell me anything: its obviously not meant to be human-readable and its filetyep is "Absolute".
