I agree with Philip here. I believe he is following standard Usenet
practice by properly cross-posting the article. The software is to blame.

However, there is a very simple fix to Newsbase to overcome TTFN's
deficiency.

In Newsbase's uncompressed !RunImageS locate the line where maxsave% is
set (normally to 10) and change the corresponding line in the compressed
version, so that the value is 1. In Newsbase 0.54n, this occurs on line
15250 and changes "fd%=10:tg%=100" to "fd%=1:tg%=100" (uncompressed
version is "maxsave%=10:maxactive%=100"). I'm sure the same trick can be
used with other versions of Newsbase.

I have used this method for about a year and this *seems* to work okay
for me, i.e., cross-posted articles just appear in the first group in
your newsbase that appears on the newsgroups line. All that stuff about
disclaimers and loss of material apply, i.e., DON'T BLAME ME !

BTW, I have posted something like this before to d.i.s.a, but I guess
there are more Newsbase users now and they might not have seen this
before.

cross-posted to d.i.s.a, which'll please everyone ;-)

regards,
Pete
