It was to be their new and wholly-owned flagship model displaying a refinement in computer design, construction and secure working environment unequalled in Europe, indeed in companies anywhere outside of America. If I were in Acorn's shoes, I would ensure that it carried the Acorn name as a condition of the licence to manufacture and sell it. It would then continue to serve as exemplar for the company. That is assuming it _wants_ to continue producing parallel technologies. I was looking at a list of PC clone manufacturers' capitalisation and turnover. All are miles bigger than Acorn. None are so original and creative as Acorn _was_. Maybe someone in in the boardroom realised that the tide of talent had turned and was on the ebb.
