Help! Broken Directory

I am currently in need of some rather urgent help - I'm getting Broken
Directory errors from my WWW Cache.

The only thing stopping me from doing a complete re-format of the Zip
disc it's on (I haven't got a hard drive) is that there's about 20meg of
downloads in there...

Is there any way to recover it quickly? I /could/ use !Zap to do it,
but I /do/ have a life to get on with... I have some DiscEdit program which
will scan and recover from the free space map but Broken Directories aren't
free space, are they?

If there's no easy way to recover it, then would anyone like to give me
a crash course on Filecore SWIs?

Thanx in advance,

STOP!
Before you do anything, get fsck, you'll be glad you did.
Then, read the instructions, and your broken directory will be fixed.
Your filenames, however, will probably get nuked, and turn into 203Eee54
or similar, and the filetypes will all be FFF (Text).

I've done this. I had a disc error 22 reading a floppy directory, so I
used AutoCopy to turn the error into a broken directory, and then fixed
the BD with fsck.

Try the FSCK suit. It's on HENSA IIRC.
