I have a frequent need to print web pages. The only way from Argos
Voyager and all the browsers I am aware of is via a draw export; fine
for very short documents but If requiring to print multiple pages,
splitting and editing draw files is very convoluted.
I cannot get my copy of Arcweb's !Printweb to work, it crashes -freezes-
the computer every time I drag the icon to disc.
Even if !Printweb worked, there is no simple way to edit the document.
For example if I download a detailed aviation weather forcast, it could
potentially fill several pages but I only want a few paragraphs for later
reference, so I don't want to print more than one or two pages that
will later be discarded.
Does anyone knows the solution even if it costs? ie a webpage editor??
I hope the cross post is acceptable!
Thanks in advance,
Grant.

The somewhat convoluted method I use is as follows: I have an Impression Publisher "blank" page with one large frame (to hold the stuff to be printed) and one small frame (one text line high) at the bottom right. I drag the drawfile (saved from WebVoyage/ArcWeb) into the main frame, where it gets automatically resized to fit. If it all fits on one page, fine, I can print it; but if the drawfile is too tall, I get a very shrunken version: I double-click on the frame to get the "Alter graphics" box, and increase the scale to 100% (or nearly). If I only wanted to print part of the original, I just slide the graphic up or down until the bit I want is visible --- and print it. If I want the whole think, I put the cursor into the botton-right frame and press Return a few times to get sufficient (DTP) pages; then change the scale in each to (nearly) 100%, and slide each one up/down to get a sequence of pages which contain everything. This can get a bit tedious; but it does mean that I can "arrange" the printed pages exactly as I want them. Make sure you have the latest version of !PrintWeb.
This should be 0.16 (09-Apr-97). An earlier version tried to open a file on
RAM disc, and locked up the computer if the RAM disc did not exist.
The latest version of !PrintWeb should be available from Stewart Brodie's
web site at
http://ftp.dsse.ecs.soton.ac.uk:8080/ftp/ArcWeb/

Once !PrintWeb has split the long Drawfile into several A4 size files within
the directory A4WebPages, created when you drag the icon to disc, each of
these Drawfiles can easily be edited to delete content that you do not want,
and you only have to print the relevant page, not all those created.

Create a RAM disc on your machine. There is a bug in some versions of
printweb whereby the program attempts to write a log file to the RAM
disc and freezes if one is not present. I don't know if the latest
version fixes this.
