I keep getting 3 copies of news postings - mainly using the Pluto demo but
also using Voyager2, I'm using this posting to test this (I probably will end
up getting 3x3 newsgroup articles!) but would appreciate any help....

That's funny. For the past few days, I've been getting two copies of lots
of news posts plus some that were mis-ascribed. I thought it was my system
playing up so I autorepaired it, twice.

It seems to be OK at the moment.

Terry.

The world will not end with a Bang: it will go with a whimper, buried under a mountain of paperwork.

I've just got 3 copies of your message! ;o)

Also I seem to be missing some articles (I only just got the ArgoNet
announcement on argonet.announce!) and some that I've posted.....

He he. Look at your article headers. This message has been Xposted
to 3 Newsgroups. So you would get them 3 times, one in EVERY group.

I don't know about NewsAgent, haven't used it since Oct 97, but if
you go to !Pluto >> Preferences >> News, you'll find (bottom RH
corner) 'Crossposts'. Click on this and you'll have a choice:
- Don't Show
- Set Read
- Delete
- Leave

Tick whatever turns you on ;-)

* Then they came for me - and there was no one left to object.

Only in one newsgroup for Argonet. Argonet.acorn.voyager.
Seem to get duplicate postings all the time.
No problem with uk.rec.waterways.
Mike(fed up reading the same thing three times)

I didn't mean that, although I was belatedly aware that the post to which I
replied was X-posted.

I was getting two copies of the same post * in the same thread * one under
the other. Not just one: every one, in some cases. (They also turned up
once or twice in the other ngs. too.)

Terry.
