You *can* run news and mail on 1 Mbyte and no hard disc. I've done
it. IRC too. But you won't enjoy it at all. On 2 Mbytes and, in
my case, a Zip drive (with the Alsystems drivers, if you don't like
pain) it's a bit easier, and you can *almost* run a web browser.

I don't *think* you can run Internet 4 on an ARM250. I've run
Internet 5, and while it's a bit of a fiddle (boot off a floppy
load new !Boot, etc, etc, strip down to get rid of memory-eating
modules etc.), it *does* work.

I'd recommend ArmTCP as your dialler, it works well and doesn't
use much memory.

As apps, you can just about manage Newsbase in 2 Mbytes, and I
wouldn't be without Zap 1.35 (it is so much smaller than the latest
versions!) when dealing with the A3010.

IRC is easy in 2 Mbytes. POP and NewsHound run fine, as does
Messenger.

ArcWeb fits into 2Mbytes, at least in early versions.

As for other stuff, I suggest you try it and see.
