Wouldn't you just know it.  This morning, the first time I logged on it
froze at 17 secs - and stayed there.  After an Alt-Brk it unlocked with a
message about 'Autoupgrading' and exited displaying 2min48secs.

What autoupgrade?  I didn't see any mention of one.

It's working fine, now. (I think)
