It works except that it's beta, and > doesn't do SMTP yet. A POP fetcher that fetches from multiple accounts all at once has been available for ages. I wrote !POPClient not that long after asking for the `multiple connection' feature in !POP and being told (perhaps rightly) that it's something few people would want, and thus fairly low down the list. It doesn't do SMTP sending, but then I'm of the opinion that a POP fetcher isn't the place to be doing sending anyway. (I have another program that lives in an 8k WimpSlot that tracks down the smtp host for the `external' domain I'm currently in and throws mail at it - anti-spam tactics now mean that having multiple dial-up accounts causes trouble with a mailer that has static setup. So I fixed it.) In fact, !POPClient does various `weird' things in addition to fetching a number of accounts at the same time, including repeated fetches with each user having their own (or using the global) fetch interval. Works perfectly for me, and has done so for about 14 months (or so). The only except is that few people bother going past !POP, so I've not concerned myself that much with ensuring the copy on the freenet site is up-to-date. Oh, I take that back, the only other except is that it's a Toolbox application, and thus somewhat larger than I would like. Given that it works, and it's apparently tiny userbase, that's not likely to change, however. -- J, wearing his CBHS hat. All opinions expressed above are fictitious.
