True, not on Demon's current service because as it stands, that ratio is too
high even for our expensive phone calls...however, local phone calls are free
in many parts the USA and still many providers simply charge a flat rate.
Some of them get around the problem by imposing a time limit on calls, but
others seem to manage without. Perhaps Demon might consider imposing a time
limit on standard dial-up but not on network-reserved dial-up? Alternatively
they could impose a small fee per unit time (hopefully not as much as BT's
though!) and there are countless other possibilities.

Can anybody who actually knows something about this, suggest which option
British service providers are likely to take?
