The modem seems to spend quite a lot of time sitting there doing nothing, annoyingly :} There are so many factor that I can't put this down to a single thing; although using an ARM2 A3000 and connecting at 19200 probably don't help. Plus, I was using my own "hacked-together" NNTP client, which could have been dodgy, although I didn't get good speeds with Neil's FTP client either. KA9Q seems to give better transfer rates in general is what I have found. -- $ steven@arise.demon.co.uk $ Huge Phone Bills R Us $ * ___ __ __ ____________ / * i have found * * / _ /_/ /_//_/ /__ /_//_//_/ /___ * you can find * * /__/ / \ / / / ___// / // \/ \ * happiness in slavery * $ srh20@cam.ac.uk $ Robinson College, Cambridge University, England $ ...
