DESCRIPTION

This is an External Video Driver (EVD) for the ShapeShifter Mac
emulator, which supports the Commodore A2410 8-bit Graphics Card.
It allows 8-bit (256 colours) graphics for the Mac, and supports
three types of screen-refreshing for optimal performance:
        - MMU refresh, where the 68040 MMU is used to indicate when a
portion of the Mac's video frame-buffer (kept in standard Amiga
          memory) has changed.
        - Delta-buffer refresh, where two copies of the frame-buffer are
kept in Amiga memory (double the memory requirements over MMU),
and are compared. Only the changes are copied to the A2410 card.
        - Dumb refresh. The entire frame-buffer in Amiga memory is copied
to the A2410 every refresh interval.
All of these refresh modes require a Refresh in ShapeShifter, since
the A2410 does not support direct video updates or drawing by the
CPU or Mac emulation. I've found that with MMU refresh on a 68040
system, and using 640x480 gfx, and a Refresh of 5, that the
        following resulted:
            CPU: .932 FPU: 16.178 Gfx: .361
I'm not sure how that compares to 16-colour AGA or ECS (or 256
        colour for that matter).

Future versions will support the 68060 MMU (next release), as well
as the 68030 MMU, plus optimized refreshes and performance. Please
        register...
