Window Shade program wanted

Hi all,

On the Mac and the PC there is a program called windowshade which when you
press the mouse button a couple of times (or specified amount) on the
title bar the window will close up and hide so all you have is the window
title bar on the screen. A couple more clicks on the title bar and it
will pop up back how it was.

I know that was a program like this somewhere on the Amiga and would love
to know what it is called. I have tried searching the Aminet, but without
success :(

If any one could help I would be greatly appreciative!!

The program on the Mac/PC was called WindowShade and have even seen some C
code for it in an old computer magazine, so one must be about!

Regards

Paul

There's IconifyWindow or something like that, which adds an MUI style iconify
button to any window. It didn't actually work in the slightest bit when I tried
it, but you might have more luck than I did. =) I think it's on Aminet.

The "problem" is that it places the "icons" underneath the workbench
window. If you make the workbench, JUST a window (not backdrop), and you
then make it like 1/2 the screen, VIOLA there are the icons.

A quick search of the Aminet Index produces:

iconify.lzh util/cdity 9216 Tiny 2.0x commodity to iconify windows
IconifyGadget.lha util/misc 16384 Adds iconify gadget to windows. BETA ve

There's also a program on Aminet called Menufy. You use control-double-click,
although I think that's selectable, to make the window disappear. An entry
appears in the Tools menu, and when you select that the window reappears. The
docs said something about only menufying windows that "are willing", so it
won't work with all of them, but I haven't ever had it cause a crash.

On a reverse note :). Is there a way to make PC windows *not* be the frontmost
window?

I've been using WinNT, Win95 and an older version of OS/2 for the past few
months and they all make the current input-focus window the front most window.

Its getting really frikin annoying. expecially when the window takes up the
whole darn screen.

Any work around this, less than $15 shareware ;)

Iconify is a part of that package too, does the same, except it makes
the windows appear as icons.

Now here is my problem with these two:

No 'memory' function ie. when you reboot, it won't remeber which windows
are iconified or menufied, big drawback.
