Can anyone tell me what I need to convert a postscript file to a
normal Amiga readable format. I used ghostscript to convert it
from pdf, with more hassle than I ever want to repeat, but it is
still not very readable, as in loads of characters etc between the
words.
Thanks,
Matt.

As you already have ghostscript you also have the means to save out the
text part of the ps file.
The following is a modification of Ghostscript:batch/ps2ascii (a batch
file for an obscure shell) to work with ADos.
ps2ascii (s flag set)
------------------------>&-----------------------------
.key PSFILE,OUTFILE
. Extract ASCII text from a PostScript file. Usage:
. ps2ascii [infile.ps [outfile.txt]]
. If outfile is omitted, output goes to stdout.
. If both infile and outfile are omitted, ps2ascii acts as a filter,
. reading from stdin and writing on stdout.
. Additionally use OUTFILE=file will process stdin to file
.bra {
.ket }
.def PSFILE "-"
Stack 32000
if "{OUTFILE}" EQ "" ; PSFILE - STDOUT
gs -q -dNODISPLAY -dNOBIND -dWRITESYSTEMDICT -dSIMPLE -c save
-f ps2ascii.ps {PSFILE} -c quit
else
gs -q -dNODISPLAY -dNOBIND -dWRITESYSTEMDICT -dSIMPLE -c save
-f ps2ascii.ps {PSFILE} -c quit >{OUTFILE}
endif
------------------------>&-----------------------------
Note the lines starting -f must be joined to the gs lines I have also
added a space at the begining of each line.
Also the resultant text will require reformatting in a text editor or
word processor.
