I have a program on Aminet called SayMore. It can be found in
util/wb/SayMore.lha. It has a lot more parameters and it is still far from
being finished. I used SpeechToy and JSpeechToy and found that they ate memory
like crazy. I can't remember, but I believe that they both had enforcer hits.
I have done a considerable amount of testing with my program and it appears to
be 100% system friendly.
Check it out. It is free.
Before I forget, somebody had problems with it, and it turned out that he had the
wrong version of the narrator.device. The OpenDevice() call does not have the
option to specify device versions. It will still work with older versions of
the narrator.device, but the face won't move and more than half the options will
have no effect on the voice.
