I've got a CD32/SX-1/1 Zappo drive/1 Seacrate 170M hard drive. No power problems with it for moi. Probably why the drive is slow is because it has become so fragmented. If possible I'd grab someone elses computer, a parnet cable, copy the whole lot off, and re-partition and format you drive from scratch, and copy the whole lot on again. The further drop in speed may be 'cos of the SX-1 connectors. Take off the middle connector, clean it with cotton-wool buds and alcohol (er, maybe not the Guinness in the fridge though), and slap it back on. Do the same for the CD32's edge connector. I'm you sending a little something I received in the mail from Alan Redhouse of Eyetech for the FAQ which could help too. Dan. -- AeP Agitate. educate.
