CD32 Problems

Our CD32 has developed problems;

- Won't play audio CDs....audio CDs are being recognised as the audio CD
controller screen is displayed , but the image of the CD is missing and
the track numbers are shuffled on the display. The drive can be heard
sort of scatching back and forth.

- Some games no longer play correctly. ie.Global Effect switches
constantly between selection screens before you can make a selection.

- Occasionally when the machine is warm/cold booted you get a grey boot
option screen.

Is the problem likely to be the drive tracking?...is it something I can
adjust?

Can you recommend someone in Sydney who has repaired CD32s? or would it
be cheaper to buy another one?

Regards....Tony PLumb

  Bizarre multi electronic problems are often attributed to "ripple" in
power supplies. In other words, there is a bit of AC riding on the DC
output of the supply, enough to toggle bits.
  I would try to use another supply, see if that helps?
