Has anyone else purchased this $20 product that connects the
CD32 RGB signals to a Monitor? On mine, while the screen is
much less blurry than composite video, there are some pretty
bad "banding" effects. Did I just get a junk one?

 Would a ground connection help?

 Thanx ---Lo

A "ground connection" between the monitor and CD32 is essential
as the signal return path, but this should be part of the cable!
Are any wires broken?
Are the syncs also connected?
What terminations are there? Perhaps there are small value
coupling capacitors in lines not expecting to see 75ohm loads
at the monitor?

I am surprised you say the screen is blurry on composite video,
I use a 21" SONY TV with CD32 on direct PAL video to SCART
(NOT RF) with excellent results, and have also tried the SVHS
route which was slightly better still, but a borrowed lead :^)
I agree that RGB should be much better, but it does not seem
that way from CD32 (I tried a nasty fiddle direct from CD32
motherboard to the SCART which may have made things worse
since it was not properly buffered)

well, I carefully got all the goo out without breaking any
wires. Someone said that the three resistor capacitor pairs
are of the wrong values, and If I just short them out, the
screen display should improve. What do you think?
