Oh dear :( You need to find any disk that will boot the machine and give you at least a shell, you'll also need at a minimum a null-modem cable and access to a PC, preferably one with a CD-ROM drive... Hopefully you'll have a CD somewhere that has most, if not all, of WB on. Also you'll want to download a copy of MessyDOS and probably the msdos lha (in /misc/emu) as well as an Amiga lha and TwinExpress. First I'll deal with the easy bits, whilst I think about the difficult bit. Turn both machines off, connect the null-modem cable, boot them. Once we've managed to get them talking you need to copy the WB and Messy-DOS software to the Amiga and install it. You also need the boot floppy be able to mount the SER: device (offhand I can't remember what you need to do this under WB1.3). After you've "copied" the TwinExpress software from the PC to the Amiga, and get it running, you can use it to copy the Amiga Format command from the CD, format some new boot floppies then copy the rest of WB from the CD to your new floppies.... Then you can transfer MessyDOS across and install that. Now the really hard bit, how to get any files from the Amiga to the PC without using MessyDOS or TwinExpress or in fact any kind of Term-type prog. available. It _may_ be possible using the SER: device and stdio indirection (the famous "Laplink" PC software can use this technique to install itself across a null-modem link from one PC to another). Essentially what you do on the PC side is COPY filename COM1: And on the Amiga side type SER: > filename Do this for the Amiga TwinExpress executable, then run it! NB it's been a fair while since I've played with the serial port like this and I can't remember the details. You may need to play with the Amiga Serial Prefs and some MODE COM commands on the PC to successfully transfer a file like this. -- <URL:http://www.pierrot.co.uk/faq/dtm.faq> Team AMIGA Save Soviet Jewry -- Win Valuable Prizes!!!!
