I recently posted a message asking for someone to send me a Kickstart
X.X ROM image for UAE-DOS and UAE-MAC. The next day I recieved two, one
being 820,529 in length and the other 710,059. (The size differance is
probably due to different versions of the copied Kickstart ROM image.)
I have heard that there is some kind of virus-ROM image that reformats your
hard drive (or whatever c:\ is, tape drive, etc.). How can I check the two
ROM images I have for authenticity? I am not trying to incriminate the
folks who sent me the ROM's, I just want to play it safe. Thanks!

Well, maybe someone who is opposed to you copying the ROM sent you one
of the virus ROMs (although I've never heard of such a thing before, but I
don't put it past someone to create it..)
I'll say this, however.
1.0->1.3 ROM = 256k = 262,144 bytes (approx)
2.0->3.1 ROM = 512k = 524,288 bytes (approx)
Anything else is.. well.. questionable.
