Hi All, As a fairly inexperienced 3D animator, I'm trying to model a golf ball. However, simply bump mapping a series of dimples (actually one dimple, multiple copies) wrapped around a sphere does not create a realistic looking golf ball...although it may do in a pinch. The problem is that the spacing, size, and shape of the dimples changes due to the wrap while all these elements are consistent on a real golf ball. How does one model a truly realistic looking golf ball? If anybody could give me some pointers on how to do this (or find the necessary files to do so) it would be greatly appreciated. For the recorde, I am using Alias Animator 6.0 (not Power Animator). Thank-you in advance. Glen Mead - gmead@io.org
