: The whole industry suffered. People will happily put up with an old (but
: functional) Word Processsor rather than buy a new one. Shops refuse to
: stock Amiga software now as they've all had stock that's been made
: worthless once the product appears on a magazine, and people aren't even
: buying new products - waiting instead for the inevitable coverdisk
: release.
Perhaps I'm the exception, but I have never once rec'd a version of any
program (aside from PD utils) on a cover disk that remained on my HD for
any length of time. As a rule, by the time they appear the gui's are
'dated', and many of the features have been surpassed or ceased
functioning with the current WB versions.
They have occassionaly however left me wanting more badly enough to buy
a program. Esp. if there is a reasonable 'upgrade' offer in the same issue.
