Of course, there are quite a few cheapskates that are using > software without upgrading, but it's not their fault it was on a > coverdisk for $10. I'm not blaming anyone. Everyone, the magazines, the software publishers, the people buying the disks appears to get a good deal. It's the overall effect over a period of time which has damaged the industry. Many ex-Amiga publishers, who are now publishing on different platforms, are giving away (almost) their products for coverdisk use, as they don't care about the Amiga market any more. Existing publishers can't compete with 'free' products, so they have to stop development on their own products. This leads to a freeze in Amiga software - no one can afford to further develop and enhance products and newer versions of your favourite programs just don't appear. Jolyon
