Imagine4.0 A4000 screen problems

I have an A-4000 18meg with no graphics cards using Imagine 4.0.
Imagine has never used the full screen on my monitor. Niether
my old A-2000 with a 1040s or my new A4000 with my 17'Idec.

When I purchased the 4.0 upgrade I had hoped that I would
be able to use the whole screen. A full inch plus on the right
and bottom of the sreen are unused.

Imagine Preferences SMOD settings have no effect. 

Does any one else have this problem and is there any solution.
