                            Static Image Contest

The town of Grosseto announces the first international contest for static
images as part of the third exhibition IMMAGINANDO. The final stage of 
the
event will take place in October 1996.

General rules

*  Article 1  -  Theme of contest
Applicants, with the utmost freedom of expression, must send their works
on the following subject:
                "Music and Pixel: the discorcenting symphony"

*  Article 2  -  Hardware & Software
No limits are set to their use, Works must be presented on Ms-Dos, 
AmigaDos
or Macintosh.

*  Article 3  -  Works
Each applicant can present up to four images. The name of the author 
shall
not appear inside the works; it will be indicated as a caption every time
image is used. Image are requested to be saved in formats TGA, TIFF, IFF,
JPEG 100% quality. No limitations are imposed to the image resolution;
however, it is advisable to use high resolutions with pixel aspect ratio 
1:1
and respect the photographics ratio 3 x 2 to obtain a good printing, 
Images
shall be saved on floppy-disks, 100 Mbyte zip, cd rom or send by modem.
Applicants are requested to send an ascii format file containing the form
printed on the back, duly filled. Works without this information will not 
be
accepted.

* Article 4  -  Expire date
Works shall be sent, free of any charges, on or before 20 August 1996
(as attested by the postmark) , to the following address:

* Article 5  -  Sections
The contest is divided into two section: static Image 3D and static Image 
2D

*Article 6  -  Jury
The images will be examined by a jury composed by experts and artists, 
who
will select the works that will take part in the final stage of the 
contest.
The jury will also award prizes to the first and second best category.
Thanks to special voting papers, the people attending the event can also
award a prize for section Static Image 3D and one for section Static 
Image
2D, the jury's decision cannot be questioned.

*Article 7  -  Prizes
They consist of a sum of money amounting to Lit.500.000.

*Article 8  -  Miscellaneous
Works received will not be returned. The authors shall autorize the
organizators to use the works only for promotional purposes and to insert 
a
reduced version of some into electronic networks by using a maximum range
of 256 colours. Participation in the contest involves the unconditional
acceptance of this announcement.

N.B. The form must be filled in all its parts, without which the 
applicant
will lose right to partecipate. Scanner use must be declared. File ascii
